floppy emulator for <i> dos

dear all,
i want to ask if there is anyone have an experience in use floppy emulator to change the legacy floppy disk in mark v i dos computer, so the data in computer could be copied to usb pendrive. because nowadays it just getting harder to find a 1.44mb floppy disk.

This might be possible but it wouldn't be very easy. You would have to install the software on a MS-Windows PC, then format the USB drive, then use it on the <I>. As long as there are no drivers required on the PC using the drive, it should work. One would have to get used to using those little buttons on the front of the device to switch between floppies.

I haven't done any other research, but I would think that any solution would have to be "invisible" to the <I>, because you wouldn't be able to run any driver while IDOS was running. You might get away with stopping IDOS to run an application to use the emulator device, but then that doesn't seem very user friendly, either.

Again, as long as the emulator device appeared to the <I> CPU just like a floppy drive and didn't require any driver, it should work in theory.

I went to ipcas.com site and it seems the devices are still available.
