I am looking for a GPRS control room SCADA solution which can receive the datalog files form the RTU as email or FTP files, merge and display the trends. It must receive datalogs as per the RTU scedule (hourly,daily weekly etc) and should merge the current logs with the previous ones. Please recommend the RTU brand successfully deployed also.

 

We have deployed two large distribution automation systems using CDMA. The RTUs are in an "always-on" connection with the Master.

A good design would be to create an OPC to the core SCADA solution. For instance GENESIS32 SCADA/HMI connects to realtime data through OPC DA and OPC A&E and has trending based on OPC HDA. The OPC HDA Trend historian reads from an open database format (MSDE, SQL Server, Oracle) which only leaves you to merge your RTU trends into the database tables.

BridgeWorX can be used to create workflows per RTU schedule in order to move proprietary data into the open OPC HDA store.

One recommendation could be the usage of Yokogawa SCADA and Stardom controllers (can function as RTU). Easiest would be to find the local yokogawa contact from their website (http://www.yokogawa.com), and they would gladly assist you in further information.
