RPM of motor using Modicon EHC20200 card for velocity control of hyd. cylinder.

I am looking at setting up the card using the config. screen and will read the reg. address for value. Will this be a pulse count?

Or I can setup the config. with logic and also read the reg. address. Should this be a pulse count, which I will use to calculate the RPM?
