I would just like to say THANK YOU for that articleJan 16 2024 by Gunner Scott! I own a SMME Engineering Company in South Africa, we have a few CNC machines and as it happens they break from time to time. If you own machines and provide custom manufactured spare parts for customers you will understand the distress and stress you encounter when a machine is down and you need it to work!! Long story short I learnt from Yaskawa servo motor manual that routine checking of Insulation Resistance shoiuld/could be done as a preventative maintenece practice. Well, the local agents for my machines, local Yaskawa agents , electricians , Motor Rewinders, repair technicians and others that iI enquired with regarding who or how i could get this done couldnt give me a good answer or simply get the job done. This has been an ongoing quest of mine for at least half a dozen years!!( probbly longer) Everytime a motor failed I'd go on a quest again and try to be better prepared for the next time my heart almost stopped because i had received news that this machine or that machine was standing!! Well by fluke after chasing a squirrel i found the above mentioned article , read it, printed it and saved a copy, the rest as they say will be history!! Once again thank you so much!! Regards .Shannin Kirtley My generators will lso be better off from now on!
