I have turbine frame9e and MKV control system connected to control computer with IDOS sysetm throw arcnet card. can I conect anthor computer with IDOS system to the control computer over ethernet to receive real data from MKV ? if can what the method to do it?

When <I>s were being produced, they were capable of having one of a couple of specific ISA (Industry Standard Architecture) bus Ethernet cards installed to allow limited communications via a protocol called GSM (GE Drive Systems Standard Messaging protocol).

I doubt the Ethernet cards are available any longer, and the communication was not very straightforward. Some of this was documented in the Mark V Maintenance or -Application Manual(s).

Even if you were successful in finding the right components and implementing the link, you would still be faced with the fact that the ISA-bus ARCnet card in the <I> is no longer available. At some point, you're going to have to replace that operator interface and get a new one, or buy a used/new old stock card from somewhere (one of the advertisers here on control.com, Gas Turbine Controls, did have some ARCnet cards) to try to keep the <I> going.

Also, the CPU computers used as the basis for the <I> are not so easily available these days. Many people have written to control.com about the problems they've had trying get various CPUs to work with ARCnet cards and IDOS.

Better to investigate some of the complete HMI replacement options, and get the functionality you want in the hew HMI, and get the supplier to bear the burden of making the link you want to establish work.

Let us know what you decide to do.

Several companys can offer you an Arcnet connection to add to your existing <I>, however not over an Ethernet connection.

Other than upgrading to GE MkVe you would only have Global Controls, who now offers Ethernet communication to the MkV.
