Interface DC motor with LPT port

I want to design a circuit to interface it with PC's parallel (LPT) port. Knowing that I need a circuit in between motor and LPT port, I was going to use a combination of optocoupler and a transistor in this circuit. I would like to be able to reverse the motor too.Is this possible and if so how do I do it or where can I find the info?

Thank you in advance.

hi friend how are you?

Am really build this driver circuit to control stepper motor through parallel port. You can use at the simplest these components:
1: IC L293NE: It's 4 inputs and 4 outputs
2: 8 DIOD'S: To prevent the back current on the output of L293NE
3: +5V and from 1 to 24 DC volt on VCC2 according to your motor type.

But now I am building a project to control that motor through the Web in VB.NET. So, if you have any help contact me on [email protected]

an easy way to reverse the motor is using a serial port use pins 7 and five when you send an RTS command the polarity reverses. Now i am not an expert on electronics but i have put a multimeter to the serial port and found that out.
