Did anyone have redesign their lube oil return line strainer outside from lube oil tank? My power plant basically operates with GE single shaft machine (GT and ST share with the same lube oil tank together). They design the strainer for lube oil return piping inside the lube oil tank which we couldn't do any maintenance once this strainer is chocked up. Anyone come up with re-design their strainer outside the lube oil tank so that it's easier for maintenance job once this strainer chocked up without shutting down the Plant or lube oil system/pump? Are we allowed to do engineering change for the System?

 

Please answer the following questions...
What type of filter your system has in return line?
Is there any filter at Lube oil supply line?
