Hi Namir,

Maybe it's good to mention that beside the MKV studio you can also use shareware WINCMD or TOTALCMD (http://www.totalcmd.net). You will not be able to see the dynamic rungs in active green color but, you can go through the sequence etc.

Good Luck,
ATA

Perhaps it's worth mentioning that any ASCII text editor, including MW-Windows Notepad and/or -Wordpad can be used to scroll through the CSP, since it's an ASCII text file. One can even use a word-processor application (many people do). Applications like UltraEdit are also very useful, as is Beyond Compare.

But none of these programs provides the functionality that Mark V Studio does for dynamically viewing the Control Sequence Program of a GE Mark V Speedtronic turbine control system. None. It can run as a stand-alone program (only needs MS-Windows OS), or it can run on a GE Mark V HMI, or it can be used on any PC with a GSM connection to a GE Mark V HMI Server. And the originator requested a copy of Mark V Studio.

Hopefully he'll write back and let us know if he's obtained a copy. Maybe someone with a copy could post it to a site (webpage or blog) and let us know where to find it.

just to add, if u want to open it using any ASCII text editor eg. Notepad make use the font "Terminal" with size = 9

otherwise the rungs will looks rubbish code.

anyway, i was told that Mark V Studio is not supposed to be used by users. It's actually a tool for GE TA.

Officially, Mark V Studio is intended for use by GE field engineers/TAs (Technical Advisors). Many of these people left copies of the program on the HMIs after start-up and even taught the operators and technicians to use it.

It's "odd" that someone can lose the program from a running HMI. It would have to be deleted or removed. Hmmmm.

hi,

can anybody repost the Mark V Studio software? we have the software installed on our hmi, but want to install on other pc for rung display, troubleshooting, etc. transfering using floppy disk is too much hasle. this software is standalone or need install?

thanx in advance..

Search the hard drive for MkVStudio*.exe. I believe it's only a single file; the most recent version I have is about 800+ kb, less than 1 MB.

TQ. i found the file, but then i have problem getting it out of the HMI. only can use floppy 1.44 and alway got this read error when copying. can you send me the file? i would appreciate it very much. but if it's not posible, then i have to think a way to get it from that HMI, and during unit is not running ...
