We have bunker pipe line with relief valve mounted on it.

The pressure relief valve set at 230 Psig to be open and release the pressure.

We would like to monitor the relief valve remotely without tapping the line (such as installing flow switch downstream the valve).

Any solutions?

Hi Ghannam,

You could install a Emerson 4310 wireless position monitor (discrete) on your relief valve. This will help you monitor the relief valve without having to tap the pipeline.

However the relief valve is spring type and it has internal stem (the stem is locked inside a cage and we cannot position a limit switch on it).

i think you can use acoustic monitor on the outlet of RV (noise sensor), you have enough pressure (230+) to generate good vibration. We use this kind of sensor for Environment requirement on all the VOC RV, monitors are made by "ACCUTEC". You can google it.
