Procedure for replacing DCC-LCC card in Mark V core

We are planning to replace <S> core DCC-LCC card due to the following diagnostic alarms and DCC errors:-
<S> Core D2_ DCC BMS out of memory
<S> Core D7 _ DCC unable to get DPM buffer for xmit
<S> Core D10 _ DCC DPM no BMS memory for isr

Kindly advice the following steps are OK or not

1.Switch off the <S> core while unit is in shutdown condition.
2.Remove DCC_chips U11, U12, U22, U23 and U6, U7 from LCC and put in the new DCC-LCC card. Fix all the cables again.
3.Power up the core.
4. If voter ID is not correct change it and
reboot again.
5.Then do EEPROM download>
‘down t4 s usr all’
6.Reboot the core

Before you power down the processor, you should upload the TOTD information. The command would be:

EEPROM UP T1 S TOTD

If you are prompted for whether or not to upload to a processor-specific file or a generic file, ALWAYS choose the generic file (TOTD_Q.DAT).

By uploading this file you will be sure to download the most recent Totalizer Data file to the processor.

For the rest of the process, you are almost correct! When you power up the processor, you will probably have to set the processor ID, and because the EEPROM will probably be blank or have factory configuration information in it, you will most likely have to use the EEPROM Downloader to download the FORMAT command to <S> first, then re-boot the processor (it will most likely only come up to A4-A5).

You can then use the ALL command (which will include the FORMAT command again--but that's okay!); the command line would be:

EEPROM DOWN T1 S ALL

and answer yes to the prompt (it will probably ask if you really want to perform a download of all sections, including FORMAT and TOTD--just say yes).

Then re-boot the processor--EVEN IF it gets to I/O Status A7 WITHOUT re-booting! (Sometimes, during a download of USER or ALL the processor goes to A7--but it's a false A7 and if you don't re-boot the processor it will probably report a whole boatload of Diagnostic Alarms when you try to start the unit.)

One question: Have you tried downloading USER to <S>, re-booting the processor and seeing if the Diag. Alarms go away? Might be worth a try if there's a bit which has gotten out of whack. You might even try downloading FORMAT, re-booting, then downloading ALL and re-booting again to see if the Diag. Alarms go away.

We had tried USER down load <S> three times but the same alarms are repeating again. We did not try FORMAT, reboot and down load ALL.

As you said we will try EEPROM UP T1 S TOTD, FORMAT, reboot, download ALL and then re-boot.

In Maintenance manual there is note:
Periodically, the Totalizer Data, point list files, and formatting information should be uploaded to the <I>’s hard disk using EEPROM Downloader. If a card failure (DCC Card) should occur, this information can be downloaded in order to restore this critical data.

One more question, if any one of the DCC card fails, can we restore TOTD data to new EEPROM chips from other core?

Yes, that would work. Approximately once every hour, the totalizer data from RAM is updated to the EEPROM in each of the processors. You could likely not even download the Totalizer data to the new DCC EEPROM and in an hour or less it would be written to be the designated voter, <R>. But the proper method would be to upload the totalizer data (from any <Q> processor), replace the card, then download the totalizer data to the new card's EEPROM.
