I like to know about interfacing my device(project) with pc through COM port. First of all i like know about how to do serial communication using vb6.0 in winxp platform. Is serial port is protected as parallel port in winxp environment? if so what should i do for communicating?

"Home Automation Basics" by Thomas E Leonik has info on programming a serial port with Visual Basic 6.

 

I would like to know how can we establish RS232 interface in WINXP. Can you give your code for my application?
