<p>Can anyone send a drawing or wiring scheme of communication cable to Siemens OP7 programming interface(1F 1A)? It has 15pin D-sub RS232 connector, but somehow connection OP cannot be established.

<p>Here's how I tried to wire the connectors:
<pre>
PC OP7
9pin female 15pin male
|--1 CD
| 2 RxD----------------TxD 4
| 3 TxD----------------RxD 3
|--4 DTR
| 5 GND----------------GND 12---|
|--6 DSR GND 15---|
7 RTS----------------CTS 5
8 CTS----------------RTS 10
9 RI
</pre>
<p>Any suggestions?

Maybe I'm just stupid.
All I had to do was to enable download mode on OP.
It doesn't seem to be done automatically, that's all.

Yes I have a cable You're looking for at home. This week I'm travelling in France. When I am back home on the weekend I have somewhere a drawing of it. If You´re still interessted on it, send me an e-mail and may be with a fax number.

Hello all,

I need some help. My OP7 panel shows 'Ready for Transfer' on msg screen. So the program needs to be transfered from PC to OP7 (this is what i understoond from various sites). Now, I do not have Protool Software needed for doing this download/upload job. I can prepare a cable to do the data transfer from PC to OP7. But can I write a code in Visual basic and get my job done? i.e. can i read a good OP7 using my VB Code, store the data to a file and then transfer that file to faulty OP7??

Let me know what ever you can share in this regards. Should be useful to me anyway. You can send me email from my website at hvinodrai dot com

Simon,

Search the control.com archives on OP7, a post was made two months ago with the information you are looking for.

Alternatively, you can search the Siemens support website and search for document 37191.
