Simulation of Electrical CAD Documents

Are there CAD Packages available, Electrical or otherwise, which have the capablity to simulate in the same manner as the programming (ladder-logic) with a PLC?
Possibly a hybrid approach. Mainly, the package would deal with the hard wired approach. A package which would include the usual stuff. Start/Stop Pushbuttons, starters, contactors, relays indicators. Alternator relays with more than 2 outputs. This would be a module which is a "click" away from keying in the parameters for say controlling four pumps. The gear devices like an "86" device which either remotely or manunally reset. This would be an interaction with the individual when simulating the process.
The devices are to list a few, realizing all of the available.
It would be interesting to know if anyone has animated a package which was not originally capable from the vendor, and if a package exists.
Troubleshooting on the design on the fly would be an expedient method.
Any feedback would appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

I don't know of any CAD package with PLC, but if you wanted to use a PC based control system, such as Steeplechase, it is programmed graphically and you do a pretty good job of simulation without having to use any field devices.

Hope this helps.

You might look into "The Constructor 2002" from CMH Software Inc. They have
software to simulate ladder diagrams and one lines. Their phone number is
800-680-7638 and their web site is:
