why do we need to flush water (demineralized) during FCO to oil before F.O. ESV opens

FCO is very frequent at my current plant. as i am just new to this Dual fuel CCPP I have noticed about this system and was puzzled on why there is a flush water system incorporated during and after fuel oil firing this systems cuts-in. any reason for that??
