Wonderware and GE Fanuc SNP Connection

I am having problems connecting a Ge Fanuc 90-70
via SNP to Wonderware system. The wonderware is on a industrial computer using Win98. I can talk to excel-to-GE via the I/O server program GESNP provided by wonderware, but when I try to connect to the wonderware-to-GE I get a "Cannot open COM1" error. Any suggestions.
