What’s So Special About the IDEM’s MLZ-M?

The MLZ-M is distinguished by its ultra-compact design, measuring only a mere 30mm, which makes it exceptionally suited for applications with limited space, such as small guard frames or tight enclosures. Its robust construction features a heavy-duty die-cast metal enclosure and a 316 stainless steel head, ensuring durability even in harsh industrial environments. This design not only provides resistance to physical impacts, extending the device's lifespan and minimizing maintenance costs, but it also incorporates an adjustable spring ball catch. This catch allows users to modify the actuator retention force when unlocked, enabling fine-tuning according to specific operational needs without additional components.

Equipped with four LEDs, the MLZ-M offers clear visual feedback on its operational status, greatly simplifying troubleshooting and maintenance by enabling quick identification of any issues and reducing potential downtime. Additionally, the device supports OSSD outputs for seamless connectivity of up to 30 units, maintaining compliance with CAT4, SIL3, and PLe safety categories. This capability is crucial for complex systems requiring multiple safety switches, ensuring that expanding the safety network does not compromise overall system integrity.

Designed to Meet Even The Toughest Safety Standards.

Classified as a Type 4 interlocking device according to ISO 14119 standards, the MLZ-M employs advanced technologies like RFID combined with guard locking mechanisms. The integrated RFID sensor enhances safety by providing high coding, which minimizes the risk of tampering or defeat, thus safeguarding critical operational protocols. With three entry points for the actuator, the MLZ-M accommodates various guard configurations, promoting smooth operation even in cases of misalignment. Its support for rear release functionality, available through an additional accessory, offers an essential manual unlocking option for emergencies, further enhancing the device's safety profile.

IDEM Safety has developed the MLZ-M ultra-compact guard-locking actuator, which offers a versatile automation cell safety solution by providing three access points for installation and an additional accessory for manual unlocking from inside your cell. This design enhances configuration flexibility while minimizing installation time. The actuator features an integrated RFID sensor, significantly mitigating the risks associated with mechanical guard locking switch tampering. As a result, the MLZ-M aligns with and surpasses prevailing industry safety standards, reinforcing your company's safety protocols effectively.
