Turck Releases “Smart” IP67 Power Supplies With IO-Link Interface

Turck has released additional power supplies for users seeking efficiency and convenience. These “smart” variant power supplies integrate IO-Link for diagnostic functions, an electronic fuse, and an LED interface to simplify setting parameters. The new devices feature a plethora of benefits and may be the next step to increasing efficiency within your application.

The IO-Link Advantage

Traditionalists may not see the need for IO-Link integration within power supplies, but the benefits are a factor that can’t be overlooked. IO-Link integration is beneficial for automated systems that must operate 24/7 with little to no downtime. IO-Link allows users with authority to monitor systems, set or change parameters, reset devices, and even gain access to enhanced diagnostics. These enhanced diagnostics provide detailed information, which can help quickly and accurately identify issues such as overcurrent, short circuits, or other faults.

One of the primary benefits of IO-Link integration is that all previously listed functions can be performed remotely, potentially minimizing downtime and the need for physical intervention. Not Interested?

Suppose users aren’t interested in or don’t see the need for IO-Link functions within a power supply but still want protection, robustness, and simplicity of wiring.
