Can anyone give me the cable connection diagram to connect laptop serial port (9 pin RS232) to PLC5/30.

Next question is what software will we use for programming AB SLC105 ?

The cable you need is a 1784-CP10 which a 9-pin female to a 25 pin male.
This cables pin out is documented in the AB manual 1785-6.5.12 on page 25.8

from the 9 pin to the 25 pin
2 - 2
5 - 7
3 - 3

and on the 9 pin side
4-6
7-8

and on the 25 pin end
4-5
6-8-20

For programming the SLC 5/01, I used RSLogix 500 with RS Linx Lite v2.5

A laplink or null modem cable works. The pinout information is available from "www.ab.com":http://www.ab.com . You will need to purchase RSLogix5 from your local AB distributor to program it.

I don't know what a SLC105 is. AB used to sell a SLC100/150 system if that is what you are referring to. It is long since obsolete, but you might be able to still buy the software from AB. You would also need to purchase their adaptor as well, to convert from your computer's RS232 serial port to whatever it is they used on the SLC100/150.
