BN3500 VT Probe Output
Vibration probe not reading after extension cable replaced

Hi there,

We had an issue with a vibration probe causing a fault, found that extension cable had a broken. Channel was placed in bypass in system 1, and cable was replaced. We are not getting any voltage readings now in system 1. Have checked voltage from field amplifier 21.5vdc, checked gap volts 8.9v ,and checked resistance from extension cable to sensor 8.9ohms. Checked from back of 3500 rack and reading exactly the same.

My question is....do we have to remove the bypass before we will get a reading as I would've thought that you should be able to see what is now being read before removing the bypass as this caused a trip of our rotating plant? Any help would be great.

Cheers
Dan
