Understanding HMI

Hi everyone,
I need to understand HMI and how work with it. Is there and pdf or test book to help?
Thank's in advance

@Micha,

My watch is broken. What might be the problem?

You would need to ask if the watch is electronic or mechanical. If the battery needed to be changed, or if the mechanical spring had been wound. Were the hands moving or not? Were the digits changing or not? You would need to ask a LOT of questions to even begin to try to provide proper troubleshooting or repair suggestions--right? RIGHT???

Did you know that thousands of pieces of equipment and processes all use HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces)? And you told us nothing about the equipment being controlled with the HMI, the type of HMI--nothing. NOTHING. And you listed yourself as an electrical engineer.

Try asking your question again--with a LOT more detail?

Your question is too generic to provide helpful tips.

An HMI is a "Human Machine Interface" which, by definition, is quite literally anything that allows a human to Interface with a machine/computer.

There are hundreds of brands, thousands of models for industrial HMIs.

The PRIMARY purpose of an HMI is to allow plant operators to see the status of their process, make minor adjustments, or control pumps/motors etc.

Think of it this way.....

If the PLC is your home PC tower, the HMI is your monitor, mouse, and keyboard.
