Getting electrocuted when touching metallic parts when a UPS is connected to the supply
@dhvinay Liked the very graphic bits! Going slowly, disconnect all except the Power Service-Panel 1. Is the panel metal? 2. Are there 3 power service wires: Red, Blk, Wht? 3. Are Red, Blk called the ungrounded service wires? 4. Is there 240-Vac between them? 5. Is the Wht wire called the...

My earthing/Ground pin shows voltage
@dhvinIay I was there in Dec, 1980! Did an Electrical System Review of the Daharki, West Pakistan, Fertilizer Plant. I was an employee of Exxon Chemicals at that time. Regards, Phil Corso

Duty cycle of Motorized valve is 80%. What does 80% means.
Sai09 Google "Motor Duty Cycle" and you will find quite a number listed. IEC Standards list more than 20. Others even provide varied shape formulae related to stop-start patterns! Regards, Phil Corso

dhvinay... Actually, I believe you should republish your problem as a new Forum Topic! This one is so old and long, many members will ignore it! PS: How close are you to Pakistan? Regards, Phil Corso

VOLTAGE DROP (solenoid valve)
JARIS RAMOS... 6. Circuit energized, Vc = 24, Vv =11, Vb = 24-11 =13! 7. Valve: Rv = 201, Av = Vv/Rv = 11/201= 0.0547A = 54.7mA! 8. Barrier: Vb =24-11=13, Ab=54.7mA, Rb= Vb/Ab = 237ohm! To me, current magnitude appears to be ok! But, how does it compare to Mfg Specs? Regards, Phil Corso, PE...

Curious about why the Discharge MOV opens 1 minute after starting the BFP
Hohoim... I believe your Control Automation topic is a Steam-Drum-Level system that overcomes a phenomena referred to as "Swell" and "Shrinkage"! If the Water-Flow instrument just monitors water to the steam-drum then the system is called "One-Element Control"! But, if the Water-Flow instrument...

RTD thermal protection HV Motors
Djaba... Welcome to Control Automation. As GMcc pointed out, the more expensive the motor, then more layers of protection should be provided. I presume you consider Protection, to mean shutdown the motor! But, RTD's should never be used for protection! However, you have mentioned 4 of the 13...

Generator Tripping on Seismic Probe
Mutahir... I believe you have misunderstood my interpretation of the "Morton Effect". It is bending of a shaft because of heating occurring at just one point, but the same point each revolution of the shaft! Since it only occurred once in your case, then you are lucky. If it happens again then...
