gas turbine GT 6F.03
Merabiko8, Actually, the answer depends on a lot of issues--the biggest of which is the type of combustion system. If the unit has conventional combustors (diffusion flame combustors)--which includes MNQC combustors (Multi-Nozzle Quiet Combustors) it can probably run for a couple of hours...

Fluctuating (Hunting) of SRV valve at MS6001 B Gas Turbine Power Plant With Triconex Controller
I wanted to offer one more suggestion. I have seen several occasions when the gas fuel supply pressure regulator and the SRV got into a condition where they were fighting each other. This usually happened after the gas fuel supply pressure regulator was either changed or refurbished and was not...

Fluctuating (Hunting) of SRV valve at MS6001 B Gas Turbine Power Plant With Triconex Controller
richatpurba, It's the engineering and engineering support for this kind of turbine control upgrade that usually suffers--meaning if (when) there are problems, it's the Customer left to try to get things fixed with little or no support from the control system integrator (the one that purchased...

Thank you for the feedback--that is the most important contribution here at Control.com!!! Yes; orientation is important, and with servos it's very important. I am very glad everything is all good now! Felíz Navidad!

STANDARD DROOP/SPEED CONTROL compared to other LOAD/SPEED CONTROL
mariselvan, Let's consider a machine with 4% droop regulation (as it's typically called by the ivory tower references and OEM documentation). Further, let's say the machine is a prime mover (steam turbine, or gas turbine, or reciprocating engine) driving a 50 Hz generator. AND, let's further...

Mauricio Marquez, The 125 VDC that comes out of the <P> core for the fuel stop valve solenoids is the result of the PTRs (Primary Trip Relays) and the ETRs (Emergency Trip Relays) BOTH being energized at the same time. The PTRs for 20FG-1 are usually energized by forcing L20FG1X to a logic "1"...

LCI with ge fanuc plc..& EX2000 software Troubleshootings/modifications
Most of the Combined Cycle plants I worked at that wanted to 'bottle up' the HRSGs to keep them warm and be able to start them faster the next day tried to anything they could to prevent airflow through the HRSG and stack to keep the pressure up and the HRSG as warm as possible. So, this idea of...

I am facing an issue to get that ControlST Toolbox fixed on my laptop ( version 04.07.03C) TO open & visualize .dcb & .trn file of EX2000.
James, 1) What is ControlST Toolbox? Are you referring to (Legacy) Toolbox, or ToolboxST? (They are two different programs.) You have said the 9FA STAG unit uses Mark V--do you mean Mark V-to-Mark VIe Life Extension (where the Mark V is converted to a Mark VIe-compatible turbine control with...

Mauricio Marquez, Can you please post at least the portion of the Gas Fuel P&ID showing the area between the SRV and GCV? There should be a "tap" there for the P2 pressure transmitter(s) (some units have just one; others have three--P2 pressure transmitters (96FG-2A, and -2B & -2C if there are...

SRV opens at 200 RPM (MS6001B with MK V)
Thank you for the information. Better late than never. I have NEVER seen a GE-design heavy duty gas turbine without a solenoid-operated vent valve between the SRV and GCV. Do you have to manually operate the valve each time the turbine trips or is shut down? Because when the GCV closes and the...

Mauricio Marquez, Foremost, when replacing an electrohydraulic servo-valve (a "servo") IT IS NOT NECESSARY to calibrate anything using AutoCalibrate. Autocalibrate ONLY changes LVDT feedback--NOTHING ELSE!!! Full stop. Period. What IS important to do when changing a servo-valve is to perform a...

Going to Premix Mode from Lean Mode
ahmad baktash, I don't think you have the same problem that was being described previously. Are you saying that while running in Premix mode for some period of time the Mark* detects flame in the primary combustion zone and energizes the high-energy ignitors to go to Extended Lean-Lean or...

Why Fuel change over from liquid to Gas for GE 7FA Gas Turbines at 10 MW

Thank you for the feedback. No mention of the position the manual valve was found in. No mention of whether or not the jaw clutch halves are closed. Two days wasted. You must not really want to find the problem.

Khan007, I have re-read your post several times, and I just can't get the idea of what you're trying to convey--or why you're interested in wheelspace temperatures. I have seen many GE-design Frame 6B heavy duty gas turbines which have, shortly after reaching zero speed after a shutdown or...

Gas turbine ratcheting issue
samba.auce, I neglected to mention that a common issue with jaw clutches is that the teeth get flattened (usually from forcing a "flying re-start" which does not allow the unit to reach zero speed before attempting another start) and won't stay engaged. If you watch the ratchet sequence, as was...

Gas turbine ratcheting issue
Every GE-design heavy duty gas turbine is supplied with a set of drawings usually referred to as P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams). GE has, for decades, labeled them as Schematic Piping Diagrams, or Piping Schematics. One of the set outlines the starting means and ratchet mechanism...
