Time That The Unit Must Remain In Turning Gear, Before Start
I know you don't have a GE machine but below is GEs comments from their Maintenance Manual. It all really depends on how the machine was shut down and for how long. As you can see, GEs recommendations caused some industry controversies by quoting 4 or 6 hours Turning Gear for a cold machine...

Results of Losing Second Liquid Fuel When Gas Turbine Operates on Dual Fuel
I guess it depends on your software what the exact action is. I'm sure you will get some alarms. What were you thinking?

Results of Losing Second Liquid Fuel When Gas Turbine Operates on Dual Fuel
Hi, your first big problem: if you are running on HFO and your distillate has failed, is when you need to shut down. The machine should switch to distillate during the shut down to flush the HFO out of the system. If this doesn't happen you are going to have static HFO sitting in your fuel...

Frame 5 Gas Leaktest
Depends on the country and their gas regulations. In many countries the answer is Yes. Remember the SRV is really the Stop/SRV, do you want a safety Stop valve that leaks?

Operating GE 9E on DLN Mode with Liquid Fuel
Unless something has changed dramatically recently, there is no DLN Mode for liquid fuel. I know GE were playing around with prototype Liquid Fuel DLN systems some time ago. Normally, on dual fuel machines, the only thing that you can do on Liquid fuel to reduce emissions is run Water Injection.

Good CSA, Nice to see you asking questions for a change! Seriously, I think this is a great idea, we need more of this on this forum. Of course we will answer questions whenever we can, but people need to realise that they need to think for themselves a little more before asking.

Atomizing Air 9001E
Before posting here, this question was asked to me privately. After some explanation, it appears that he wants to do this with the machine running and only put a blank in the CPD feed line to the AA system! Obviously I said NO but it appears that he now wants a second opinion?

Lean-Lean Positive and Lean-Lean Negative
If you check your Control Spec. you should find the temperature to go to Premix, this is Lean-Lean positive, there also be a deadband for this setting so Lean-Lean negative is the premix temp. minus the deadband. If you don't make the transfer to Premix and/or run through to Extended Lean-Lean...

Turbine Lube Oil Header Temperature Trip Setting
I reckon you are pretty crazy thinking about changing this setting without consulting the manufacturer. This setting is protecting all the devices using Lube Oil particularly the bearings. Why do you want to increase it anyway? Are you running near the trip point, if you are, that is the problem...

Mark V: S Core Re-booted Several Times
Thanks for a very comprehensive bit of troubleshooting on what looks like a pretty nasty fault. I reckon you are on the right track changing the LCC card, this troubleshooting task is going to be a process of elimination anyway. The missing I/O card error is for sure a clue, if you get this...

Frame 5 Gas Leaktest
Another great answer CSA. As you say the leak test seems a great idea but some of the pass/fail parameters set by GE are a bit crazy. For example, on a Frame 6 DLN1 machine, Test #1 was only allowing 1.5 psi leakage across the SRV in 30 seconds, pretty hard to achieve.

Low Bus Voltage
Of course it will if the demand is greater than the available grid capacity available. I live in the Philippines and they use the word "brownouts" here because, when the voltage reduces, the old fashioned incandescent light bulbs turned a kind of brown color. Many places with unstable grids...

Ignition Transformer in GE Gas Turbine
Hi CSA, strangely, on the last 2 jobs I worked on, the Ignition Transformer boxes are now inside the Turbine Compt on the side wall of the walkway (GE Pignone Frame 7 and GE Alstom Frame 9E). The Turbine Compts. on both these units are cool enough to walk inside and make a brief inspection...

Looks like you have a pretty serious leak into the turbine compartment guys. That's what you need to fix or you are going to damage a lot of other equipment.
