PG 6551B GE MACHINE
You say that you have some white smoke so it looks like you have fuel. Do you get any change in exhaust temp. when you try to fire? It would be nice to try a new set of fuel nozzles that have been calibrated, do you have any? You have checked a lot but I would still be a bit suspicious of the...

Two Frame-V GTGs Generating Same Power, But with Different Fuel Flows
One bit of information you didn't give is what is the HP Fuel Pressure before the Flow Divider? If the pressures are different, the actual fuel flow could be the same. Do you have any other fuel flow meter installed anywhere on the system, even on the LP side?

Damage to Gas Turbine Third Stage Bucket Shroud Tip
Some more information would be useful. any pictures of bucket damage? How old is the machine? Fired Hrs. at overhaul? Any strange behaviour before shut-down? Any pre-shutdown data? Any of the above would be useful, we don't have a crystal ball out here!

Questions about Conbined Cycle Upgrade
It's pretty well up to the client to specify which way he wants to go. A lot of the decision is based on how you operate your plant and how you do your maintenance. With one HRSG/machine it means you can do turbine and boiler maintenance at the same time or maintain the HRSG with the turbine...

Frame 5 Crank Starting Issue
Looks like a problem with Diesel Engine Lube Oil Pressure, probable tag is L63QD(N). This will stop engine accelerating with 20DA. Cannot remember the setting but > 9 psi sticks in my mind.

Electromagnatic Clutch
We see some very strange things on this forum sometimes! Do you guys have a Permit for Work system in place? If yes, how did anyone ever allow a permit to be issued to do this extremely dangerous job (As CSA commented, you are lucky you didn't kill someone). If you don't have a permit system, I...

Surge or stall?
Stall: When a compressor is operated away from its design point, the gas flow into the aerodynamic components (impellers, blades, diffusers, etc.) deviates from its design direction. If the angle of deviation (or incidence angle) is large, flow separation occurs. At higher incidence angles, the...

IGV purpose
IGV should go fully closed on a trip, usually within 2 seconds to fully closed. This is to prevent a shut-down surge or choke.

How to modify a 'software timer' setting in a GE MARK-IV control system?
Once you have entered the 5-digit password, you should have access to the Raise & Lower pushbuttons and can adjust the constant value (It will be very slow to adjust if you are online). Hope this helps

Frame 6 Rachet cycle time getting extended
Normally extended ratchet cycle times are caused by not making the forward stroke and therefore never cycling 33HR so the system never gets reset and keeps trying to run to get 33HR to cycle (Forward & reverse stroke completed). Usually this is an operating pressure problem (Low). I would...

Frame 9EA Combustion Nozzle Damaged
Just an addition to CSA's comments. GE's policy on DLN machines running in Extended Lean-Lean is 1 hour in Ext. L-L = 10 hours normal firing. This is how damaging they reckon running in Ext. L-L is. So, 5 months is 3,600 Hrs. = 36,000 Fired Hrs. It is just unbelievable how badly some people can...

JAW CLUTCH DISENGAGES AT 36% TNH
Do you know if the 4 Kg/cm2 is according to spec? I have no experience of this particular torque converter on a Frame 3 but, normally on Frame 5 & 6, it should be at least 6 Kg. Have you checked the foot valve and trash screen on the torque converter?

Gas Turbine frame V high exhaust temperature
Is this a Gas Fuel machine? Are you sure you have no fuel gas problems which could cause a possible liquid carry over in the gas system? Was fuel gas supply temperature OK Is there any chance that you are operating near the gas dew point? Was there any evidence of unusual levels in your Fuel Gas...

Mark V TC failed - open ckt
If T/C fails (open Circuit), it will read the minimum value in the scale code for the thermocouples, basically open circuit is 0 mv. The thermocouple will be rejected from the system and you will get an alarm indicating a failed thermocouple. There is no way to set failed hi or low, it will fail...
