Spindle Frequency?
Sounds like the noise or RF from the spindle power wiring is inducing noise and a false limit switch signal into that wiring. You will need to separate those different wiring runs or cables at a minimum. You may also have to shield the limit switch wiring by using shielded cable that has a...

Fire fighting pump motor running after a power surge
Is the Fire Water pump logic PLC, electronic or relay? What is the pressure measurement? Pressure switch or transmitter? Possibly the FW pump controller saw a low pressure because the power surge or drop (?) affected the pressure measurement. What type of fail safe logic does the FW...

What is Suction Pressure?
If you look at the data sheet for a pump or compressor there will be a minimum suction pressure listed. This is the minimum inlet pressure required for the equipment to operate at it's rated flow or pressure increase; and for a pump not to cavitate.

Meaning of 1OO2D and 2OO2D
> Can any body explain what is the difference between 1OO2D and 2OO2D? 1 out of 2 with diagnostics (1oo2D) means that the system votes 1 out of 2 with regards to inputs, processor and outputs and has build in diagnostics to improve safety and reliability. The diagnostics are required to give...

Valve Trim Size Definition
It is diameter of the port or seat. You will find trim that is the full diameter of the valve or a reduced port size. Check the Cv charts for globe valves. The Fisher Control Valve Handbook is a good reference: http://www.documentation.emersonprocess.com/groups/public/documents/book/cvh99.pdf

How can I communicate with PLC 5/10 or PLC 5/15
This AB manual shows that PLC5/10 and /15 are only DH+; http://literature.rockwellautomation.com/idc/groups/literature/documents/um/1785-um001_-en-p.pdf You will need a serial to DH+ converter like the AB 1770-KF-2 or a USB to DH+ interface.

VFD Pumps Flow Control Using One PID
You need a better control scheme. Your pump loop should have: -an auto/man station for each VFD -a bias station to switch between pumps or have them share the load. A bias of B=0-100% applied to the first AM station as -B and the 2nd AM station as -(100-B) -a low output limit on the AM...

Supplying a Power Supply
What is the hold up time of the PLC power supply? Do the motor controls have any auto restart or re-acceleration logic? The issue with a PLC controlling a MCC is that relays can drop out when there is a power blip and re-energise immediately with power but a PLC may reset itself. Therefore...

RS485 Does Not Work if Ground Is Connected
I would ensure that you have proper termination resistors; nominal value 120 ohms. And could also try idle state bias resistors at 1 terminating resistor, effectively pull up and pull down resistors. One from A line to Vs and one from B line to ground. Typical values from 1200 to 2100 ohms.

120ac versus 24dc motor control
I don't see a safety issue with 120 VAC motor control. You need qualified electricians to work on it; but the motor will be a higher voltage 600 V - 13.8 KV and will require qualified tradesmen. I can see stupid cheap people doing this so that they can hire less qualified cheaper labour...

Your wire run is 1000 ft and 18AWG has a resistance of 6.385m-ohms/ft; so wiring resistance of 6.4 ohms. There is a wide range of current draws out there depending on size, duty and contact rating of the relay. Weidmeuller and Pheonix TB interposing relays draw 11 mA @ 24VDC. An IDEC RH...
