Mk6 speedtronic
ESKAY, Many times the solutions to these kinds of problems with GE Mark VI HMIs is: Time and patience. The networking can be very complicated, especially if there are redundant NICs and/or redundant network switches. So, as it seems you have found, if you only power-on the HMI occasionally...

modbus communication on MKVI HMI
As always with something that was working for some period of time but has "suddenly" developed problems or issues: <b>WHAT HAS CHANGED?"</b> Was something changed on the HMI end of the link? Did someone try to add a signal or signals to the CIMPLICITY project or build the hmb device...

Hydraulic pressure problem in Gas Turbine
G.Rajesh, F-class turbines do not have Accessory Gears, so they do not have Acc. Gear-driven Main L.O. and Main Hydraulic pumps. They have redundant AC motor-driven pumps for both L.O. and Hydraulic systems. As such, they have Lead-Lag selection, and each system has two low pressure switches...

ISO mode safe minimum load
G.Rajesh, When load exceeds the ability of the unit to maintain rated speed and frequency, then the frequency will decrease. The unit would not trip on over-frequency, but rather the generator breaker would open (be "tripped") on under-frequency if the load continued to increase without...

ESKAY, There are certainly a <b>LOT</b> of HMI problems at your site. <b>When did this problem start?</b> After re-booting an HMI? Which HMI--CRM_SVR or a "remote" HMI? The M: drive should be "pointing to" a folder (directory) on the CRM (Control Room) Server where the Toolbox file is...

ISO mode safe minimum load
uj, Yes; if the load on the Isoch unit causes TTXM to be equal to TTRX the Speedtronic will prevent further increases to load. If the load on the Isoch unit were to continue to increase then very bad things will happen. Yes, the frequency will begin to decrease because the turbine can't...

Shutdown VS Trip in Mark VI for GE frame V gas turbine
Hi. Well, if the shutdown settings are above the trip settings, then the unit would always trip BEFORE it went into a normal fired shutdown on excessive vibration. It could be that someone wanted to "disable" the shutdown on high vibration and just have the unit trip on excessive vibration...

SRV doesn't work
otised, I'm trying to understand when the pressure drop across the GCV is or would be constant. As the machine speed increases during start-up, the SRV opens as a function of speed to increase the P2 (intervalve) pressure ahead of the GCV. And, the GCV actually doesn't ever open very much...

ISO mode safe minimum load
If the load on an Isoch machine was at or near zero MW, and a large load stopped then the Isoch machine would try to decrease it's load below zero MW and could actuate the reverse power protective function, opening the generator breaker thereby removing the frequency control unit from the...

ISO mode safe minimum load
uj, It's not clear how this is the same "problem" as G.Rajesh, but here goes anyway. How do you change the load in the machine when it's running in Isochronous mode? (That is a real question.) If the load on an Isochronous unit increases to the point that TTTRX and TTXM are equal the...

ISO mode safe minimum load
G.Rajesh, None that I am aware, though I have no experience running a unit at 1% of power for very long. As mentioned, most GE-design heavy duty has turbines of the size you are talking about seem to have some trouble controlling a stable fuel flow at such low loads, resulting in some minor...

Preselect Load with Remote Control
MIKEVI, Thanks for asking Sean to clarify his terms and usages and actual configuration. I think the main problem here is that Sean, by his own admission, is not a "controls guy" and so he is operating on his understanding of what he is being told and is having some trouble getting his...

G.Rajesh, When operating in Isoch(ronous) Speed Control mode the <b>OPERATOR</b>--yes, the <b>conscious, human operator</b>--is responsible to ensure the load on the Isoch unit does not fall below the setting of the reverse power relay, or that the load does not exceed the exhaust temperature...

Hydraulic pressure problem in Gas Turbine
One of the most common problems with hydraulic accumulators is the positioning of the valves. GE rarely (unfortunately) labels the accumulator valves, and almost no site I've ever been to labels them either. Are you certain all the valves on both accumulators are in the correct positions...

Preselect Load with Remote Control
There are several problems with this thread. The frequency--and therefore the speed--of a synchronous generator and its directly-connected prime mover(s) is <b>NOT</b> controlled by the Speedtronic. It's completely controlled by the frequency of the grid. What <b>should</b> happen when a...
