Frame 5 Honeywell Flame Detectors
Blowing by the exhaust spread question, the FOV and reflectivity issues are pretty well known in the DLN-I community. Alignment of flame detectors and the length of sight tubes is also an issue. Using non-OEM nozzles and liners can also cause issues. Fluctuating gas fuel supply pressure and...

Rung Display on Mark V HMI
Gokmen, I made a mistake with the file name..... I think it should have been MSTR_SEQ.CFG. My sincere apologies for any confusion. It's been a long time since I've had the pleasure of working on an . Please write back to let us know how you progress in resolving the problem.

Rung Display on Mark V HMI
Gokmen, When did this problem start? I've been trying to understand how this could happen and I have only one idea. There is a file, COMP-SEQ.DAT I think it's called, that lists which CSP segments are to be compiled. (Dynamic Rung Display doesn't actually look at what's running in...

FSR Control
Ayman, If the frequency is changing then the speed is also changing--and so is the acceleration. You can trend TNHA and FSRACC and FSRT and SFL1 and SFL2 and see what's happening. Acceleration is there to protect against overspeed, and when an overspeed (true overspeed) begins it almost...

Firing temperature of Gas Turbine
If an axial compressor experiences a stall condition, it's not very likely that it will keep running for very long, long enough to degrade performance and try to initiate on-line water washing. There will likely be high vibration and eventually the compressor blades (rotating and stationary)...

FSR Control
Ayman, What is the frequency doing when FSR is toggling between Acceleration and Temperature control? Is Base Load selected using the BASE LOAD button or is the unit manually loaded until Temp control is active? Or do you just put in a Pre-Selected Load setpoint until Temp control is...

GE Mark 7 Steam Turbine HMI Communications
CuriousOne, There were SO MANY things wrong with the original post, I only thought it fair to let GE try to sort out exactly what the original poster meant. I interpreted "date" to mean "data". I couldn't decipher how replacing a fuel gas control valve would have anything to do with...

4-20ma transmitter spec for GE 7EA Mark V
Is the transmitter two-wire, three-wire or four-wire? Specifically, which input terminals and terminal board are you trying to connect the transmitter to? If the transmitter is "smart", it probably won't work with the Mark V. The "24 VDC" output of the Mark V is more like "21 VDC", and...

Fire protection L30CC alarm
Hi, The alarm is probably the result of the F09 condition on the fire protection system display. There should be a listing/decryption of the codes somewhere on the inside of the door of the fire protection panel, or in the manufacturer's instruction book. L45FTX1 is usually an...

Gas Turbine Generator Battery Set
Ramesh, The battery used for gas turbine-generator control and protection is being charged continuously by a battery charger. The charger is usually a single-phase, 440 VAC-to-125 VDC (nominal) charger. Some gas turbine-generators have two chargers, both connected to the battery in a...

Generator Supply Fault
rao anwar, The first question to be asked is: When did this problem start? The second question to be asked is: Has this generator ever successfully powered this motor in the past, or is this the first times the generator is being used to power the printing press motor? It would seem...

4 20 mA signal dropping
My watch doesn't work. What could be the problem? How would you answer that question? Probably with twenty questions, right? Is it wind-up watch or a digital watch? Did you wind it recently, or how long since you put a new battery in it? When did it stop working? What have you done to try to...

A2A, Again, I'd be looking at using VIEW2 to try to ascertain what is initiating the fluctuations. One of the problems with the Mark V is that servo current only gets "reported" or "recorded" at a 4- or 8-hz rate, even though it's really changing at a 128 Hz rate. So, it's difficult to see...

newly installed GE MBC software
be_anon, You seem to be in the "Inner Circle" of knowledge on GE MBC. This is a good thing to know. How is the average technician going to be able to troubleshoot problems with units controlled with MBC? Is there going to be extensive 'Help' screens to aid in understanding problems such as...

madmaxdd, If I understand the TLA (Three-Letter Acronym) in your post someone at your site has volunteered to be a test site by having the new Model-Based Control software running a turbine at your site. There is PRECIOUS LITTLE documentation on this for several reasons. First it's...

A2A, This problem started after a major inspection. You've returned at least a couple of the original servo-valves to service, verifying that they work correctly. I don't have access to a CSP or .m6b file for a DLN 2.0 system, so I can't review the block. However, the system did work...

FSNL speed up
It's very interesting that the unit would trip on overfrequency when the generator breaker was open. Just questioning "out loud," why would it matter if the frequency was higher than rated when the generator breaker was open? The unit isn't supplying any load (unless the unit is a "black start"...
