Machine Trips Suddenly after Mark V initiates an Alarm
In the summary you indicated the unit was "...shutdown...." In the body of the original post you indicated: >The Gas Turbine Generator trips after a >tripping alarm initiates 'Stop from the >Generator Control Panel.' In GE-speak, a shutdown and a trip are two very different...

Mark V alarm
Yes, it is possible to configure additional alarms in most Mark V panels, presuming there are spare alarm logic points available. There are 512 alarm logic points in , and 64 in <C>. Many of them are used in a CSP, and some should be spare but that isn't always the case, so check first...

Gas Turbine Hydraulic oil low Pressure
The Hydraulic System Pressure should NOT be set using the relief valve. The relief valve (VR21, if I recall correctly) is there to protect against failure of the pump pressure compensator. If you are adjusting VPR3 above the setting of the relief valve and then using the...

Turbine Compartment Pressure
Exhaust duct (back-)pressure is also measured in mbar (or in H2O or mm H2O). If the gas turbine is running, it should be positive, never negative! The usual problems with exhaust duct back-pressure instrumentation are the result of improper installation, improper placement of the probes...

difference between TTXD_x and TTXD1_x
The originator asked what was the difference between TTXDn and TTXD1_n and which was the more important parameter to monitor. Physical placement of exhaust T/Cs is accounted for in the monitoring scheme. GE performance engineers have the data, the software applications and the knowledge to...

Automotice Changeover to Startup Fuel Initiated
When did this problem start? What is the gain of the servo regulator for the SRV? What is the gas fuel supply pressure doing during the transition? How stable is the gas fuel supply presssure during load changes and during the transfer back to liquid fuel? How long is the fuel...

generator frequency variations
If this is occurring in both unloaded and loaded running, then the governor and/or fuel rack has a problem. Either the governor is not tuned properly, and/or the fuel rack is binding or the mechanism that's operating the fuel rack is sticking or not functioning properly. If the voltage is...

Servo suicide Mark VI
The controller calculates an amount of servo current that is to be applied to the coil and then compares that value to the actual current physically flowing in the circuit. If it differs by more than 5%, the alarm is annunciated. It's interesting that the alarm "originates" on the same card...

GE Gas Turbines LM2500+ functional testing
This used to be called the "IDM", the Installation and Design Manual, and it was published by GE Aircraft Engine Department in Evendale, OH, USA. I don't know if they're still available or what format they're in, but they were good documents for understanding how LM engines were supposed to...

Mark V alarm
It would help if you provided a little more information about the alarm you are trying to add and what is going to be "driving" the alarm. In other words, you will need a rung to energize a coil in the CSP to cause the alarm to be annunciated. And, if this unit uses GE Mark V HMIs with...

difference between TTXD_x and TTXD1_x
The easiest way to see what each of the arrays consists of is to use a Demand (User-defined) Display for each array and then analyze the results. In general, TTXD_nn is the "raw" value of the exhaust T/C feedback from the numbered location. For example, TTXD_7 would be the raw exhaust T/C...

MarkV Idle Too Low How Performance
First, it's revealed that you were using SPY and other unsupported applications. We've still never understood if you know what the "idle time" was before you began using the unsupported applications to know if there is really a difference in "idle time" at all. Third, now we learn: > When our...

Brg#2 Vent and its high noise level - GT fr.9 E

MKVStudio and Ddump-exe Similar Program to view MK 6 on laptop
If I recall the story correctly, MKVSTUDIO was written by a GE engineer at his kitchen table at home as he was not satisfied with Dynamic Rung Display. I believe he wasn't paid anything for his efforts, and GE does not support the software, though many GE people use the application. The Mark...
