I am currently studying chemistry, and I am trying to research into automation. I need to know (for example) how automation is used in making soap or perfume, the technical details for this and the benefits of using it. I am not having much luck trying to find information on this, please could you help me, anything would be greatly appreciated.

I had done survey about 10 years back, but it may not be valid now. If you give me various unit operations involved
in perfume manufacturing like
Reactors
distillation columns
filtration, etc.

You would rarely get such articles but find out on UNIT OPERATIONS & accordingly go for intrumentation, which would give you very fair idea. I had done feasibility for distillation column for very high vacuum service used in Perfumery industries, probably manufacturing of aromatic
chemicals.
