How do I turn off the brake on a panasonic MDMA motor driven by a minas MDDDT3430 driver

A recent lightning strike took out the Minas A4 driver and 1KW MDMA motor that drive our anchor winch on the historic vessel Vega. I have replaced them with a MDMA 1kw motor driven by a MDDDT3530003 minas A4 driver. The unit jogs perfectly, but when I try the external on/off switch it turns very, very slow. +/- 1 RPM. As if the brake is still on. Is there a pr setting to control that brake? Any advice will be highly appreciated.
