Developing the electronics of our next version remote controls and wanted to offer the option to use it wired. This seems to be a demand at some off-shore plants. Together with our Ex i consultant we've been looking at products on the market that we can possibly interface with.
So consider a customer wants this option, whereby they have a standard PLC with a modbus connection in a safe zone, which device can they use to interface? We found a few, but they offer only very little power or are only for Zone 2. Many sensors in the field only need a few mA, but The electronics in our remote need roughly 1W to operate normally (5V, 200mA or 24V ca 50 mA). Have any of you ever dealt with a similar scenario?
And apparently the choice of cable also matters.
