When running on distillate, the atomizing air compressor motor at my site trips out on overload with the GT at 95% of full load.
As described above I have been unable to get my 9FA GT up to base load on distillate for several years. During this time I have had the OEM strip the compressor and motor and have found no issues. I have also checked the valve line up and pipe orifice plates.
Nameplate full load current is 44A and this is reached with the GT around 95% full load. If I take the GT up to full load the motor will either trip out on overcurrent or winding overtemperature, taking the GT off with it.
It has been suggested to simply up the alarm / trip limits on the motor protection but this motor is installed in a hazardous area and the motor vendor has stated that increasing the motor current will invalidate the certification.
Anyone else experience a similar problem or can suggest something?
