Does any one have a backup of the old microrec k4 software that is in the card, or know where we could source one?

We contacted GE but they don't support that system anymore.

Our card broke and we sourced a new one to us and it has the software for K4.1 in it so it doesn't do all the right outputs so that it signals our speedtronic that automatic excitation is available.

Sadly we don't have a back up of the software but we do have the maintenance laptop to connect to the system but we are missing that password as well and we are hoping that someone would know that also and it would be a generic one.

 

Have you tried contacting any independent GE turbine control or excitation system specialists? Someone who has worked with older Microrec K4 installations might still have an archived copy of the original software or know where to find one. I'd also be careful about using the K4.1 software, since even small differences in the output configuration can cause problems with communication to the Speedtronic system. Regarding the maintenance laptop password, it may be worth checking old service documentation or asking a former GE service engineer who worked on that particular installation. Do you happen to have the original software version or any backup of the card configuration? That information could help narrow down the search.
