I have a problem with the ArmorStarts units, what they are doing is giving me a fault, the fault which I was able to see is a DC bus fault. This happens when the unit is slowing down or idle. I read some articles on the subject and the solution is to increase the decel time. My question is how do I remove these faults with out increase the decel time since I need these conveyors to stop quickly.

You do realize that configuring the fault MESSAGE to go away doesn't give the drive more regen capability, yes?

Your problem is that while accelerating you put a certain amount of energy into the system, and when you decelerate the energy has to go somewhere, so it goes back to the drive. The drive has limited capability of dealing with this energy without having a braking resistor or line regen unit installed, and the excess energy gets converted into excess electrical energy on the DC bus, hence the fault.

Buy a braking resistor or regen system or put a mechanical brake on the motor or live with the decel time.

Thanks for this info but these amormorstarts do have a braking resistor. What I have tryed is removing the MOV jumper. In an article that I read, someone was having these same issues but with a VFD, the armor Start is basically a fancy VFD. If this does not work then I will look in the stop mode setting for these units. Any thing else I should look at?
