Is it possible to bypass the Allen Bradley DH-485 link coupler using a CAT 5 communication cable.
My system Description:
SLC-500 <--> DH485 <--> DH485 <--> Panel View 550

The problem I am facing is that using the standard configuration the PV550 is showing error "No active nodes found on network", now I have by passed the link coupler and connected the PV550 directly using the 1747-C10 cable from the PLC. In doing this I had to change the PV550 position from its original.Has your SLC500 series PLC a DH-485 connection?
Has your Panelview 550 a DH-485 connection?
If yes to both - where would you wire the screens ?
and the spare cores ?
What’s the length of cable and would it be in an industrial environment ?
Screened 2 core (twisted pair) or preferably armoured with drain wire is appropriate here, and cheaper than CAT 5.
It’s unclear what the link coupler would achieve apart from isolation.
