On site we have one Ge generator 325MVA 4-pole hydrogen cooled with static excitation system EX2100. We experience alarm code 53 fault, and M1 controller reads different current magnitude than M2, so it goes to transfer block and we lose redundancy. There is a product bulletin from GE that says that there are problems with the cabling between DSP and back plane, cables used to transfer the current and voltage signals to controllers. We have wrong type of cabling (the grey ones) not the shielded. Can anyone suggest a solution or share experience?

we also experienced similar issue at our power station for the EX2100. as per Ge recommendation we replaced the cables. now it is under observation. it takes hardly half hour to replace all the three cables and cable is also cheap. part no can be obtained from GE service manager.
