Exia junction box certification

I need a junction box with blue terminals for connecting intrinsically safe circuits. The junction box is just for terminating the wire cores and no electronics inside.

What should the certification of the junction box be i.e. Exia or Exe?

Unless there are special/unusual rules applying to where you are installing this, there is not normally any requirement to use a certified junction box. It doesn't need to be blue unless that is the plant standard but it should be marked to clearly identify what it is.

If you are working under IEC rules, you do not need a certified junction box for IS circuits. A junction box is classified as "Simple Apparatus".

But an Ex e box is quite acceptable - it's just a little bit of overkill.
