Frame 5 GE GT Lube Oil Indicator (LG-1) with H/L Alarm Switch (71QH/QL-1) Faulty

During GT MI we found the Lube Oil Level Indicator gauge LG-1 was responding but the H/L Switch (71QH-1/71QL-1) was not responding. We would like to purchase a new switch.
Kindly let us know any supplier who can provide the similar replacement Level Indicator.
Existing Switch Details, as per photo attached.

@ManishChauhan,

What have you done to try to troubleshoot the problem?

Have you verified there is voltage at the connections to the level indicator?

Are there terminations in the round conduit fitting with the screwed top--or is it a potting connection for hazardous locations that is filled with dried potting compound?

Have you disconnected the wires and tried to simulate low- and high levels, using a wire jumper or alligator clips? If you can simulate a low- and high L.O. levels to the turbine control system and it detects the change in status (from "normal" to high and low) then the problem is likely the switch mechanism in the level indicator itself. But best to verify the wiring and connections or terminations and verify the two input channels to the turbine control system before buying a new switch only to find out the problem was the wiring/terminations/connections.

It was my experience that these devices were a level indicator with an integral switch, but if there is NO indication at the turbine control system of either a high- or low level then it's possible there is an electrical problem with the wiring/terminations between the level indicator/switch and the turbine control system.

Qualitrol is still in business (www.qualitrolcorp.com). It looks like the silver label has the GE part number (256A1072P005).

256A1072P005 appears to be an active part (not explicitly listed as obsolete) on the GE Vernova power parts store. Often times when some OEM furnishes a GE part, it can't be directly purchased from that OEM. Qualitrol may be able to sell you something similar, but I'm willing to bet they won't/can't sell you that exact part. Sometimes there is an aftermarket for GE parts, but not always.

@White,

Qualitrol may be able to suggest/recommend a retail supplier that can provide the part. There was a company that seemed to have a lock on parts for GE Frame 3s and 5s; I think the company name started with the letter “A” like Argonaut or Argon or something like that.

I think I recall older versions of the level indicator/switch using mercury switches; newer ones might use proximity switches. But the switches were internal to the assembly which is attached to the side of the L.O. tank.
