GTG - Auxiliaries failure - ride through this failure?

- GTG auxiliaries are fed from the low voltage switchboard.
- The Transformer feeding the low voltage bus (from where GTG auxiliaries are fed) is out of service.
- The LV switchboard has ATS (no fast transfer), just normal auto transfer scheme
- So the auxiliaries of the GTG would be OFF during this brief period and it has to be switched ON again

Within this brief period, can GTG run without shutdown?

There is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY to know without looking at the electrical drawings and the program running in the turbine control system.

The only POSSIBLE way this could happen was IF the machine had black start capability AND had a special transformer connected to the generator output which could supply a small electric load (electric motor-driven cooling water pump(s), electric motor-driven cooling water fans, for example) but I know of VERY FEW machines and electric schemes that were designed for this--and only for short periods of time, not indefinitely. And there's really NO way to know of how long the machine could run in this condition without knowing MUCH more about the conditions of the machine and the load on the machine. REMEMBER: The 125 VDC battery is not unlimited in its capacity to run the turbine control system and it STILL needs to be able to run the Emergency DC motor-operated pumps (L.O. at a minimum) in the event of a machine trip or shutdown when there is no AC power. The battery IS NOT designed or sized to run indefinitely, nor should it be considering it must have enough power to run the emergency pumps in the event of trip from load.

We know NOTHING about the machine and its age and its auxiliaries (motor-driven or not) and the generator output terminals/connections.

So, the answer must be no; it cannot run without shutdown. Without knowing a LOT MORE about the machine, its auxiliaries, and how the generator terminal output is configured.
