How should i connect my single phase induction motor to soft starter so that i can protect starting capacitor or soft starter's PCR from buring out?

I have single phase 2hp induction motor and i want to control its inrush current using soft starter which gradually ramp up voltage. I want to know that how i can use it safely without any damage to pcr or capacitor? Should i need to remove capacitor or connecting soft starter to running winding only or something else????

Start cap. in single phase is used to bring lag current to lead current and syncronize with voltage then motor have high torque enough to rotate the equipment. No concern any damage to cap.start even you have direct start but life time of cap. is depend on how many times to start the motor. Soft start shall use in application to avoid too high torque during start to load side make high deteriorate the mechanical part such as gearbox or cause spillage material during start the conveyor etc.
