We have 4x2 system, and in 2003 we retrofitted Mark IV with MarkVIe. It was working fine till November. After T/A of one of the unit we can not access tool box from local HMI. i mean tool box icon is missing. But we can access tool box from EWS1_SVR. Can anybody help.

You have not told us what work was done by the TA (Technical Advisor). Many times, one of the reasons that TAs are asked to return to site, or one of the things they are asked to while on site, is to implement different levels of password access/protection. (This is just another area that GE documentation is severely lacking in describing, and most TAs are also not well versed in implementing password protection and access control during initial commissioning, or, really, at all.

Did the TA upgrade ControlST while on site?

What access level are you not finding the ToolboxST icon on the desktop? Operator? Maintenance? Administrator? Most times, the Operator access level is not configured to allow an operator to access TooboxST; that's typically the "default" configuration, but some sites want their operators to be able to access ToolboxST for monitoring purposes, only. How has your site been configured (if at all), and if it is configured what is the user allowed to access for each of the configured levels?

Just because the icon is no longer on the desktop does not mean TooboxST is no longer on the HMI. Desktop icons are usually just shortcuts to the application.

Have you looked at Start | Programs to see if there is an entry such as 'GE Control ST' or something similar which may have access to TooboxST?

Have you looked in the Program Files folder on the hard drive of the local PC to see if ToolboxST is on the hard drive? (You could search the entire computer; I believe the application is ToolboxST.exe, or something similar.)

Once you find the executable, you can use MS-Windows to create a new icon on the Desktop for accessing the application. (You may also get very lucky and find the ToolboxST shortcut icon in the "Recycle Bin" of MS-Windows, and you could likely then just 'Restore' the item and it would re-appear on the desktop. That doesn't mean that someone didn't remove ToolboxST (which would be very unlikely, unless the TA was told to remove it, and, again, we don't know what the TA was doing at site, but if the icon is in the Recycle Bin *and* TooboxST is on the hard drive, then your task is much simpler.)
