Hi Everybody,

I would like to make temporary changes in MarkVie when I receive alarms. I do not want to build and download every time. For eg. GCV/SRV valve position margin change. You can change it. But unless you build and download, the changes will not take place. Is there a way to make temporary changes? please advice.

It's not clear exactly what kind of change you are trying to make. I've never heard of gas valve "margin" changes.

Are you referring to a Control Constant change? That can be done temporarily without building and downloading.

If you're referring to some kind of I/O Configuration change (regulator gain, null bias gain, inversion mask, input scaling value, etc.) those require downloads, though I'm not sure they require building (I don't have a copy of ToolboxST and a UPD to make it work to try at the present time).

But, at least to me, the type of change you are trying to make (even if it's temporary) is not clear. If you can be more specific about the change you are trying to make, perhaps we can be of help.

It might also be helpful to describe the problem you are trying resolve by making these temporary changes. Because, under typical, normal operation changes shouldn't be required, especially to gas valve set-up or configuration. So, if you could help us understand the problem perhaps we could suggest a permanent fix.

Just a thought. I always prefer to understand the root problem, and deal with that, than trying to perform "workarounds" or make temporary changes. Makes my life as a technician and an engineer a lot easier.

In the PCAA card LVDT page there is "Position margin" for gcv and srv lvdt. These were set as 1 before. This means if the valve position is above +/- 1% condition, this makes diagnostic alarm.

I have screen copy with me. But I don't know how to attach this.
For control constant change do we change at the software / variable page "Initial Value" or at the control constant page?
