ABB Adds AI Diagnostics to Help Emissions Monitoring Teams Act
The latest ABB Remote Condition Monitoring uses Genix Copilot AI to interpret analyzer health reports, suggest possible causes, and guide maintenance next steps.
ABB has updated its Remote Condition Monitoring (RCM) solution with AI-assisted diagnostics to help maintenance teams investigate analyzer faults and respond faster. The system combines continuous equipment-health monitoring with My Measurement Assistant+ for centralized device information and Genix Copilot AI to interpret reports, suggest possible root causes, and guide next steps. Teams can generate automated health reports on a schedule, after specific events, or on demand, giving them accessible records for maintenance planning, audits, and regulatory reporting. For users of ABB’s ACF5000 continuous emissions monitoring system, the update adds AI-guided troubleshooting to the company’s broader digital measurement and service portfolio.

AI Integration Combines Monitoring and Diagnostics
The new RCM solution combines continuous analyzer health monitoring, centralized equipment data, and AI-powered diagnostics for maintenance and operations teams. After checking device health, RCM generates reports on a schedule, after specific events, or on demand. The reports provide insights into device condition and performance, enabling operators to identify problems and monitor overall system health.
My Measurement Assistant+ improves RCM by giving users one dashboard to monitor all their devices. They can view device status, health reports, and past data in one spot, making it easier to check performance and investigate problems.
Genix Copilot AI adds another layer by interpreting analyzer health data and reports. According to ABB, this tool helps operators find possible root causes and decide on next steps. Genix Industrial DataOps supports these AI capabilities by providing essential data and contextual information.
Remote Diagnostics Targets Maintenance Challenges
Industrial operators face more pressure to keep emissions monitoring working, while also dealing with skill shortages and more complex measurement needs. When an analyzer fails, finding the cause often requires expert knowledge and can take time, delaying repairs.
ABB says the new RCM addresses these challenges by combining continuous monitoring with AI-assisted troubleshooting. With remote access to analyzer health data and guidance, the system helps operators investigate issues sooner and decide if they need more support.
Genix Copilot AI offers guidance in seven languages, supporting users across locations and work environments. If more investigation or expert knowledge is needed, ABB experts can provide remote support. David Lincoln, Digital Lead at ABB’s Measurement and Analytics division, says keeping emission monitoring systems running is crucial, but finding the root cause can still take time and specialized skills. The latest RCM’s AI-powered guidance helps operators spot issues, understand possible causes, and act faster.

Automated Reporting Supports Compliance-Related Records
The updated RCM automatically creates health reports, logging device health that can be stored on-site or in My Measurement Assistant+. Operators can access past analyzer performance and events. These records help with maintenance planning, audits, and regulatory reporting by providing a clear history of equipment condition. Automated reporting also saves time by reducing manual work. Teams can choose scheduled, event-triggered, or on-demand reports to check analyzer status as needed. While these features support compliance records, operators still need to ensure their monitoring systems and reporting meet all required regulations.
Integrating with ABB’s CEMS Portfolio
For users of ABB’s ACF5000 continuous emission monitoring system (CEMS), this solution expands ABB’s digital measurement and service options by connecting emissions measurement, condition monitoring, service history, and AI-assisted diagnostics. ABB also highlights its ACF5000 LCS low-range CEMS, which meets European Industrial Emissions Directive 2.0 (IED 2.0) standards. By combining analyzer health monitoring, AI-guided troubleshooting, and automated reporting, ABB aims to help operators reduce unplanned downtime, limit the need for specialist site visits, and keep easy-to-access records for emission compliance.
