Antaira Toughens Outdoor Networks With Rugged LANOBOX Enclosures
Built for harsh outdoor conditions, LANOBOX enclosures combine IP68 protection, integrated power, PoE, and 20 kA surge suppression.
Antaira Technologies has announced the release of its latest ruggedized enclosures for protecting outdoor industrial networking equipment. Customers can choose from two models within the LANOBOX Series that share the same protection capabilities and operating temperature range. The main draw for engineers is the durability of these enclosures concerning structural design and the power surge protection offered via the integrated 20 kA surge suppressor.

Features and Capabilities
Both the LANOBOX-105-T and LANOBOX-212-T are designed and outfitted to support applications including pipeline monitoring (such as oil, gas, and water pipeline systems), construction site comms, smart transportation systems (weaving in and out of warehouses and production facility blocks), intelligent irrigation systems and precision agriculture, video surveillance and security systems for outdoor perimeters.
The LANOBOX Series of enclosures comes with an operating temperature of -30°~75°C, a power supply, and surge protection of up to 20 kA. The LANOBOX-105-T and -212-T provide customers with an ingress protection rating of IP68, conferring full protection against dust and other particulates, as well as safety against the ingress of water when submerged in more than 1 meter of water for longer than 30 minutes.
NEMA 4X enclosure types, such as those of the LANOBOX Series, offer protection from hazardous parts, protection of internal parts against the ingress of objects such as windblown dust, and protection against the ingress of water. Further, NEMA’s 4X standard provides additional protection from corrosion and ice build-up on the external surface of the enclosure, making it suitable for industrial spaces that face cold weather extremes.
The enclosures include an unmanaged PoE switch with an optional pole mount kit for LANOBOX-PMK available for purchase separately. Wall mounting is also possible.

Specifically, the LANOBOX-105-T accommodates 5*10/100/1000Tx RJ45 ports with 4*IEEE 802.3at (PoE+) outputs, providing up to 30 W per port and a 120 W total power budget. With these features and capacities, the LANOBOX-105-T can support network edge devices such as access points, cameras, and sensors. Other additional accessories include the LSP-0200X-bt-100-T and LSP-0400X-bt-100-T surge protectors.
Comparatively, the LANOBOX-212-T accommodates 4*10/100/1000Base-T IEEE 802.3bt ports providing up to 90 W per port (Type 4), 4*10/100/1000Base-T IEEE 802.3af/at ports providing up to 30 W per port, and 4*100/1000 SFP slots for fiber uplinks. The total PoE power budget is 240 W at 48~55 VDC power input, and the enclosure supports a power supply of up to 350 W. SFP slots enable connection to high-speed fiber optics without degrading the signal or introducing unwanted interference.
Installers can count on standard wiring to install and save time, and the surge protection prevents issues from progressing further down the line, which could have detrimental impacts on control room processes. The durable enclosure and integrated power supply offer protection against the elements and eliminate the need for costly external, bulky power supplies.
