does anyone know about a GSM modem that can be connected to AB Micrologix 1500? I need to transmit alarms to operators' mobile phones. Pls give details.
Have successfully used the Falcom GSM modem on Omron PLCs. Go to www.falcom.de check partners and then distributors for a local distributor.
The main thing is your PLC must have communications commands to the serial port eg transmit and receive.
The PLC must also be able to send ASCII strings to the serial port from registers where you store your messages.
