Could you help me. History module software doesn’t work correct after PC restart. Recording of diagnostic alarms, SOE and events are configured in this historian. After restart one of this configured parameters didn’t register in historian. We restart historian service many times to fix this problem. Have you any idea how to fix this problem

Installed software in HM:

Windows XP Professional
PI Software for Historian 12-Feb-2001 GE002 Copied by CCS with permission from OSI Inc
Turbine Control System Solutions HST Product Code ( for Historian) Version 01.03.01 Par No DS210e010320100000 GE Power Systems
CCSI Arcnet Driver for Win NT, 2K, XP

You say you have re-started the historian service many times to fix this problem. Do you mean you have had to do this many times in the past for a similar problem, or that you have tried re-starting the historian service many times in an attempt to fix this specific problem?

When did this problem start? Was something done to the Mark V, some download, some configuration/programming change?

Did you try to add a new point to the historian service?

Is it correct to say that *every* other configured point is working by this particular one, and only this particular one? Can you provide the signal name?

Did the configured point just stop "updating"?

If there is only one "configured" point that's not working, then something is wrong with the point "definition" or something has changed in the Mark V to make the point be inaccessible by the Historian.

Can you get valid data for the "configured" point on the HMI?

Most of the GE Mark V Historians I have worked on required that the unit-specific files from the HMI that was last used to download to the Mark V be copied to the Historian and then the PC re-booted. (Actually, I think there is a command which can be run from a command prompt, but it's just as easy to shutdown the PC and re-start it most often.)

But, it would most helpful to understand what happened before the configured point stopped updating.

Because it would be extremely unusual for one point that was previously working to stop working without some other action having occurred which caused the point to stop working (if it was working previously).
