I have a siemens PLC (S7200-CPU 226) that I have connected to a panel printer. I use the RS485 port to communicate with the printer. The printer is not the best (if you shake, the printer will write rubbish), so I try find a new and better.

I search the net and I could not find any other printer than the printer I got that has a RS485 port. Does anybody have any suggestion of a good printer (type panel, label) that has a RS485 communication port ?

Hi!

I assume that you are using the printer in 485 mode. I would suggest that you either convert the PLC o/p to 232 & try with any serial printer of externally connect a 485 to 232 converter & try any serial printer.

Alternatively, if you can convert the PLC port to 232, you can also connect a Serial to Parallel converter & connect aany parallel printer.
