I am trying to communicate with a plc (S7-300) that has a proibus-DP port open as a master. Can I use prodave for communication with a master? As far as I know, only a master can initiate communication (with a slave). So if I am using my PC to read data blocks from the PLC memory, how do I proceed?

 

Yes it is possible. The prodave station is master class 2 and the PLC, controlling the slaves is master class 1.
