Hello,

We're using a 4-20mA to profibus converter and would like to test it. Could somebody suggest some testing software for ProfiBus? I'm assuming it'll be a ProfiBus master emulator? Free ones are of course preferred but commercial ones are welcomed too.

You can get the software cheap or free, but the cost of a profibus card will amaze you. Cheapest might be a used PLC that does profibus if you have programming software. If not, prepare for another shock.

Cheapest option is a Siemens BT-200 Bus Tester. If you have a higher budget, try the Profitrace:

Not sure about the software.. I was able to buy a profibus card on ebay from a vendor in china for around $125 USD.

Card worked pretty good.. I was able to find some software that would work with the card but I don't have that information handy right now.
