I am using one of Allen-Bradley family, as follows:

1 - RSView32 V7.2
2 - PLC: CompactLogix L35E
3 - Communication via Ethernet TCP/IP

What is the best verion of RSLinx that supports the above case?
Is RSlinx Single Mode sufficient for this purpose?

RSLinx Classic Single Node is cool for this. In fact, so is OEM and Professional. Don't use Lite.

In fact the "light" version is perfect for what you just described...why? because 1. its FREE and 2. If your only talking to a single node, why bother to pay for a single node license? The only difference between the "light" version and others is the ability to do OPC/DDE communications. If you don't have the need for OPC/DDE and it doesnt sound like you do, use the free version. If you ever find a need for that, you can always upgrade.
